What is a job offer comparison calculator? A job offer comparison calculator weighs multiple offers across base salary, signing bonus, annual bonus, equity vesting, employer health contribution, state income tax, and cost-of-living index. It computes Year 1 total comp, after-tax pay, COL-adjusted purchasing power, and 4-year total to identify the strongest offer.

How These Are Calculated
- Year 1 Total: base + signing bonus + (base × annual bonus%) + (equity / vesting years) + (employer health × 12) + other benefits.
- After-Tax: Year 1 × (1 − state tax %). Simplified — does not account for federal brackets, FICA, or 401k pre-tax savings.
- COL-Adjusted: after-tax / cost-of-living index × 100. Compares purchasing power between cities.
- 4-Year Total: recurring comp × 4 + signing bonus (paid once). Useful for offers with multi-year equity vesting.
